Teenage literature expert and respected editor Don Gallo interviews the authors about their techniques, hobbies and passions to provide insight into the motivations behind the books.

"I felt there was a need for a resource where teenagers especially--but teachers and librarians and researchers, too--could get complete, up-to-date information about contemporary authors who write mainly for teenagers," Gallo said. "The site is continuously updated, including the dates and places where these authors will be speaking, visiting schools and signing books."

Gallo, who is based in Solon, Ohio, frequently presents workshops for English teachers and young adult librarians throughout the U.S. He received his master of arts in teaching from Oberlin College.

Authors4Teens is presented by Greenwood Electronic Media, a division of The Greenwood Publishing Group.

Currently, Authors4Teens.com features more than 20 distinguished authors who write for teens, such as Chris Crutcher, Norma Fox Mazer, Jerry Spinelli, Joan Bauer, William Sleator, and Laurie Halse Anderson.
